“THE BEST STUDIO EVER

As a self proclaimed Pilates princess I have tried every reformer class in London, UK and am making my way around the Brisbane studios, but always come back to Power Moves. Every aspect of the studio is perfect. It is not only an amazing class every time but the studio is so polished, clean, perfectly lit, each class feels like such a luxury experience. The teachers are amazing and so inspiring, it’s genuinely the highlight of my week.

I’ve found that some reformer classes I’ve been to at other studios can feel too slow and relaxing, and others feel too much like a bootcamp that really isn’t close to the Joseph Pilates method but instead just feels like a HIIT type workout on a reformer, but what Power Moves offer is the perfect reformer class.

I tend to keep doing the Fundamentals classes as they are never too repetitive in format, but still offer all the foundational exercises I want in a class. Reform is also great for if you want that push or variation in equipment or exercises. I think this format is much better than your traditional beginner, int, adv. I also love how the music blends seamlessly in volume between the teachers instruction and the exercises, something I’ve never seen done quite so well at other studios either.

Location is also great - perfect for a Saturday morning followed by coffee and a sweet treat at West End markets!

Well done Morgan and Co. X”

Before discovering Pilates, I felt like I had tried everything - lifting weights at the gym, endless cardio sessions, every other group fitness class I could find. While each of these have their benefits, I always hit a point where I felt stagnant, unmotivated or just plain exhausted.

I first started Pilates just to try something new, but it quickly became so much more than that. What kept me coming back wasn’t just the physical benefits—it was the fact that I actually ENJOYED it. Pilates gave me mental clarity, steady progress and a genuine connection with my body that I hadn’t experienced before.

Over the years, with consistent practice, I’ve been able to progress. Just like everyone else, I still have days where I don’t feel super motivated to workout or days that I might feel weaker than usual - and that’s okay. Progress isn’t always linear and it’s important to honor where you are in the moment.

If you’re wanting to stay consistent and progress your Pilates practice, here are my top tips:

1. Create a routine you love – The more you enjoy it, the easier it is to show up.
2. Start slow and build up – Don’t rush to advanced exercises. Master the basics, focus on proper form and gradually challenge yourself. You will be suprised how quickly you progress.
3. Listen to your body – Be kind to yourself. It’s important to recognise when your body needs rest. Rest days are just as valuable as workout days.
4. Mix it up – Variety is key to staying engaged. Incorporate different types of Pilates workouts in your weekly routine - I love to mix up reformer, mat pilates and yoga—to keep things fresh and fun.
