Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about becoming a certified Pilates instructor

What sets SPRING apart from other Pilates teacher training programs?

SPRING offers a modern, science-informed approach to Pilates education, rooted in mentorship, community, and real-world teaching experience. Our physio-led programs use a flexible flipped-learning model that pairs online study with supportive, hands-on teaching labs.

We don’t see ourselves as just educators. We’re partners in your growth. With clear, evidence-informed tools and real human support, we help you build confidence, find your teaching voice, and enter the industry feeling grounded and capable.

After graduation, you remain part of SPRING’s community, connected to mentors, peers, and a network that grows with you.

How are SPRING certifications recognised internationally?

SPRING certifications are designed to prepare instructors for real-world teaching across a wide range of studio and professional settings.

Our graduates teach and build careers across the U.S., Australia, Canada, Europe, and beyond, and SPRING is increasingly recognized for its science-informed, inclusive approach to education. In addition, we are currently in the process of seeking accreditation for our Mat and Reformer Certifications through AUSactive in Australia.

Certification recognition can vary by country, employer, and regulatory body, but many studios value SPRING-trained instructors for their clarity, confidence, and thoughtful teaching approach.

If you have specific questions about working in a particular country or region, our team is always happy to help you explore how SPRING fits into your goals.

How do I know which certification is right for me?

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin.

Most students start with the Mat Certification, then move into Reformer, Pre & Postnatal, and finally Apparatus as their advanced specialty training. If you’re new to teaching, Mat is the best place to build strong foundations.

If you already hold a Pilates or movement credential, we’ll help you choose the entry point that aligns with your background, goals, and confidence.

Our team is always happy to guide you toward the pathway that feels right for where you are now, and where you want to go.

Can I work full-time while completing my certification?

Yes – most SPRING students balance work, family, and study.

Our flipped-learning model, clear structure, and 12-month access window are designed to support real life, not compete with it.

How much time should I realistically expect to commit each week?

Time commitment varies by certification and by how quickly you choose to move through the material.

Most students spend several hours per week on a mix of online study, movement practice, and reflection. During phases that include live teaching labs, your schedule will include set lab times, with additional time for preparation and integration.

All certifications come with 12 months of access, which allows you to pace your learning around work, family, and other commitments. We design our programs to be structured but flexible, so learning feels sustainable, not overwhelming.

Will this certification guarantee me employment at Power Moves?

While we can’t guarantee employment at Power Moves, this training is designed to set you up for real opportunities in the industry. As part of the SPRING network, graduates are teaching in studios, leading private sessions, and even opening their own spaces across Australia and internationally.

SPRING-trained instructors are known for their clarity, confidence, evidence-informed programming, and inclusive teaching style quality studios actively look for. Through portfolio support, mentorship, and a connected global community, you’ll graduate feeling prepared, supported, and ready to step into the industry with confidence.
